Sponsorship and Exhibition General Information

The 11th World Conference on Computational Mechanics (WCCM XI), the 5th European Conference on Computational Mechanics (ECCM V) and the 6th European Conference on Computational Fluid Dynamics (ECFD VI) will be jointly held in Barcelona on July 20 – 25, 2014.

Previous editions of IACM WCCM were held in Sao Paulo, Brazil (2012), Sydney, Australia (2010), Venice, Italy (2008), Los Angeles, USA (2006), Beijing, China (2004), Vienna, Austria (2002), Buenos Aires, Argentina (1998), Tokyo, Japan (1994), Stuttgart, Germany (1990) and Austin, USA (1986).

Previous editions of ECCOMAS ECCM were held in Paris, France (2010), Lisbon, Portugal (2006), Cracow, Poland (2001) and Munich, Germany (1999).

Previous editions of ECCOMAS ECFD were held in Lisbon, Portugal (2010), Egmond aan Zee, The Netherlands (2006), Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom (2001), Athens, Greece (1998) and Stuttgart, Germany (1994).

The congress will take place in the premises of the Complex made up of the Palace of Congresses of Catalonia, the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I - Business and City Resort, and the Gardens. The Palau of Congresses of Catalonia is a symbol of the contemporary Barcelona. It was designed by the prestigious architects Ferrater and Cartañá, and obtained the National Architecture Award 2011.

Rey Juan Carlos I Hotel is a unique resort in the heart of Barcelona. Located on the Diagonal, the city’s main avenue, this luxury hotel is just at walking distance from the shopping, cultural and financial centres. Rey Juan Carlos I Hotel is surrounded by 2,5 hectares of 19th century Mediterranean gardens. The gardens, the native pines, palm trees and serene ponds, create a tranquil oasis in the heart of vibrant Barcelona.

On the basis of the preceding events of the same series and the exceptional tourist attraction of the venue, this WCCM-ECCM-ECDF 2014 Congress is expected to be attended by over 3.000 participants from all over the world.

Congress participants are drawn from industry, academia, and government agencies. The participants have a broad interest in computational mechanics with the majority working or research in solid and fluid mechanics. Attendees interest is rapidly expanding in the areas of computational materials science, micro and nanomechanics, biomechanics and computational medicine.

The WCCM-ECCM-ECDF 2014 Congress Organizers are inviting organizations interested in participating in the Sponsorship and Exhibitors Program. Congress participants will be interested in viewing and discussing publications, software, hardware, and other materials, including educational, related to computational mechanics. The Exhibitor Areas will be strategically located at the centre of daily activities to facilitate interaction of participants with Exhibitors.
