About the presentations

Information for speakers

The Technical Programme consists of 4 Plenary Sessions, 28 Invited Sessions including 5 Keynote Lectures, 28 General Sessions, with 607 presentations overall.

Typical plenary sessions consist of one lecture delivered by a Hangai Prize Awardee and two lectures delivered by invited lecturers, Torroja Medalists or IASS Honorary members.

Plenary lectures of invited lecturers, Torroja Medalists and IASS Honorary Members are allocated 45 minutes (including 10 min Q/A) and plenary lectures delivered by Hangai Prize Awardees are allocated 30 min (including 5 min Q/A).

A typical parallel session consists of six presentations, or one keynote presentation plus four regular presentations.

Keynote lectures will generally take 30 minutes (including 5 min Q/A) and regular presentations last 20 minutes (also including 5 min Q/A). These times include a brief presentation by the chair of the session and any questions or discussion at the end of the presentation.

All speakers and session chairs are asked to remain on schedule.

A PC and a projector will be present in each room. We encourage using these PC and testing your presentations before the session starts. You can also bring your own laptop.

The connectors available on each projector will be VGA and HDMI. We suggest taking with you any adaptor needed if you want to use your own laptop. We strongly encourage you to have a backup of your presentation on a USB storage device.

It is presenter’s responsibility to check in advance that presentations correctly work with the available version of the installed software.

In Spain the power plugs and sockets are of type C and F. The standard voltage is 230 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz. Type C sockets also work with plugs E and F. Type F sockets also work with plugs C and E. You may need a power plug adapter and/or a voltage converter for your electric appliances.
