Porta d'Europa (Europe Gate in English) is a bascule bridge that is part of the infrastructure and facilities of the Port of Barcelona. It was inaugurated in June 2000. Designer was Juan J. Arenas. The contractors that participated in the construction of the bridge were FCC (Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas) and Guinovart.
Porta d'Europa bridge held the record for being the largest bridge of its kind in the world. The distance between the rotation joints of each of its leaves, 109 meters, have given it the reputation of being a singular bridge.
The visit will include a meeting with the Head of Maintenance of the bridge and a visit to the port by boat, focusing on the bridge itself.

08:55 Walk to the Moll de Barcelona for the maritime visit.
09:00 Maritime visit with the "Consolat de Mar". The group will embark and disembark at the Moll de Barcelona.
