SANDBOX SCENARIOS

This page lists the different sandbox scenarios which will be discussed during the workshop. Even in case you cannot make it to Barcelona personally, please feel encouraged to submit your ideas, your comments, your suggestions, your concerns as some (2-3) ppt slides each including your e-mail contact to following e-mail addresses:

sandbox_steel@icmeg.info
sandbox_alu@icmeg.info
sandbox_electronic@icmeg.info
sandbox_additive@icmeg.info
sandbox_composite@icmeg.info

Your slides will then be presented by the chairs of the different scenarios and discussed by the participants during the dedicated workshop sessions. In case you submit own slides you surely will get feedback! As a guideline you may consider questions like

  • Which sandbox scenario do you address?
  • What are the topics of interest with respect to the macroscopic product and its production process of this scenario in your view?
  • Are these properties expected to vary under operational conditions?
  • Can your properties of interest be derived from knowledge about the microstructure?
  • Which are the microstructure characteristics relevant for your properties?
  • Please specify software tools (commercial and/or academic) which you consider as suitable to derive your relevant properties from microstructure information:
  • Please specify software tools (commercial and/or academic) which you consider as suitable to generate digital microstructure information:
  • Please specify software tools (commercial and/or academic) which you consider as suitable to predict properties of individual grains/crystals:
  • Are you aware of any properties of individual grains/crystals which are currently not accessible by any simulation tool? Please specify:
  • Please specify software tools (commercial and/or academic) which you consider as suitable to predict properties of interfaces/grain boundaries e.g.
  • Name of tool1 (property 1, property 2 etc.):
  • Are you aware of any properties of interfaces/grain boundaries which are currently not accessible by any simulation tool? Please specify:

Please add anything you consider as relevant or interesting
