The social programme of Coupled Problems 2017 includes a Welcome Reception (on Sunday June 11) and the Conference Banquet (on Tuesday June 13). For organizational reasons tickets need to be booked in advance.

Accompanying people are welcome to join both the Welcome Reception and the Conference Banquet at a special rate of 140 Euro. The order should be made by the participant in the conference at least 30 days before the conference date.

The programme for accompanying persons features the following guided tours:

City Tour Filerimos Tuesday June 13 Start ascent to Filerimos, approximately 1-hour guided tour. The guests continue heading towards the Ancient stadium of the temple of Apollon, where they have around 40 min to tour and take photographs. Next on to the walls of the Old Town, where they leave the bus and walk through the Gate of Amboise and are guided to the outside of the Knights Palace, the Inn of England & Archaeological Museum.

Afterwards the guests will have about 50-60 minutes free time to explore & shop.

Island Tour Monday June 12 The first stop will be at the Valley of the Butterflies for a visit where guests can explore the lush scenic valley. Next there will be a guided tour in the ancient village of Kamiros. Lunch and wine tasting session at one of the major winery of Rhodes (in the wine growing region of Embon).

Following visit of the picturesque village of Sianna for a sample of local honey and local spirit Souma. Next stop will be the village of Monolithos for a photos. On the return guests will enjoy a coffee stop on the beach at Gennadi village.

Lindos – half day Wednesday June 14 The lively village of Lindos is a unique monument of preservation, combination of clear blue skies, crystal-clear waters surrounded by the dazzling white colour of the traditional village houses.The astonishing beauty of the castle, the Acropolis of Athena Lindia on the top of the hill enjoying spectacular views, with St. Paul’s Bay (where the Apostle arrived in 58 AD) and the paved streets of the village captivate visitors.

A walk through its narrow paved streets reveals the beauty of the traditional island architecture. Visit the Acropolis either on foot or ...using the "Lindos Taxi" donkeys (extra charge), to witness the vibrant history of the place.
