The goal of the school is to give insights on recent developments in dealing with moving boundaries in both fluid and solid computational mechanics.

These boundaries may be interface between fluid and solids, cracks, solidification front or more generally phase transomation fronts.

This summer school is innovative in several ways:

• It deals both with fluid and solid mechanics problem and addresses moving boundaries within a generic framework.
• It is not centered on a unique numerical method: Extended- Finite Element Method and Immersed Boundary Methods will be both considered.
• It will cover a wide range of scientific fields: fluid structure interactions, fracture, contact and phase changes.
• Wide range of “industrial” applications field will be also considered: aerospace, biomedical, geological, biophysics,...
